Any technician that’s been in this field long enough has experienced compassion fatigue, burnout, or both in some form or another. We are all passionate about patient care. We do this work because we are all empathetic souls and this work fills our hearts. Sometimes the long hours, the difficult clients, the difficult patients, and the day-to-day struggles begin to wear us down mentally and emotionally. AVTS supports the relief technician by design. We support our technicians in plotting their own schedules. They choose when and where they work, allowing for that optimal work-life balance we all desire.
Training and Leadership Bond New Hires to the Practice
AVTS was started with the intention of filling in open shifts in veterinary practices, but we quickly learned there was also a need for training and leadership. When hospitals are short staffed new hires often get “thrown to the wolves” with minimal training and oversight. Frequently, the doctors are expected to be teaching new techs and assistants because often, the “senior staff” is also green. This affects efficiencies and production in the hospital. AVTS exclusively employs a team of highly qualified and credentialed technicians, who possess extensive industry experience spanning over a decade, 15 years, or even two decades, to alleviate the burden from the practice of training and teaching technical skills and workflows that support the hospital
Conference Level On-The-Job Training
In addition to providing on-the-floor support, AVTS has a team of credentialed technicians and Veterinary Technician Specialists that can bring conference-level CE in-house. This allows for the entire team to receive the same education your RVTs and DVMs receive when they go to conferences. We also are able to customize training by pairing one of our techs with your hospital to work directly on the floor with the patients and the team for real case learning.
